Thursday’s game

District 1-1A Division I

White Deer (5-3, 1-0) at Follett (7-1, 1-0), 7 p.m.
After a heartbreaking loss last week, the Bucks need a road win badly.  Unfortunately, the Panthers are just more talented. … Follett 64 White Deer 34

Friday’s games

District 2-5A Division I

Tascosa (7-1, 4-0) at Lubbock Cooper (7-1, 4-0), 7 p.m. Pirate Stadium at First United Park
Here we go the game everybody circled on their calendar before the season started. Both teams have done their part and this one clinches the No. 1 seed in 2-5A DI. Tascosa has won five in a row and been in survival mode the last two games. This one will a have a playoff feel to it and that’s when the Rebs play best. … Tascosa 33, Cooper 31

Abilene High (4-5, 3-2) at Amarillo High (3-5, 1-3), 4 p.m., Dick Bivins Stadium
Man, oh, man, Amarillo High is desperate for a win in this rare 4:00 p.m. game. The Sandies still own their own playoff destiny and two wins to close out the season guarantee a playoff berth. Abilene plays some serious defense, so AHS has to win a slugfest. I have no clue how to figure the Sandies out but a week off should help. … Amarillo High 21, Abilene High 20

Lubbock Coronado (2-6, 1-3) vs. Lubbock Monterey (0-8, 0-4), 7 p.m., Lowrey Field at Plains Capital Park
This Lubbock city rivalry has seen both teams enter with better records, that’s for sure. Both teams will empty the kitchen sink in this one. I say Monterey finally finds the win column with a late field goal. … Monterey 17, Coronado 14

District 2-5A Division II

Abilene Wylie (5-3, 3-0) at Palo Duro (2-6, 1-2), 8 p.m., Dick Bivins Stadium
Wylie sits atop the district and holds a playoff berth already in its hands. Palo Duro is tied in fourth with Plainview and pulling off the upset in the nightcap of this doubleheader at Dick Bivins Stadium wouldn’t clinch a playoff berth but would be the biggest win in second-year Coach Mims program. … Wylie 42, Palo Duro 21

– Lance Lahnert
Last week: 4-0 (1.000)
Season: 22-8 (.733)

District 3-4A Division I

Dumas (5-3, 1-1) at Canyon (7-1, 1-1), 7 p.m., Happy State Bank Stadium
These teams are playing for position in the district playoff picture, with the winner establishing the inside track to the No. 2 playoff seed. Don’t expect a lot of scoring here as both teams have solid defenses. What’s working against Canyon is that the quarterback position is in flux, as the Eagles are on their third guy behind center this season. Dumas has been far more stable in that regard with senior Emmanuel Ibanez. Also, the Demons were able to contain Pampa’s prolific running game last week. Dumas will likely force the Eagles to throw the ball more than they want. … Dumas 24, Canyon 14

Randall (7-2, 3-0) at Hereford (0-8, 0-2), 7 p.m.
This is one of the area’s biggest mismatches on paper, considering that Randall has clinched the district’s No. 1 playoff seed and Hereford is still looking for a win in the last week of October. It’s possible the Raiders could enter this game with a hangover from last week’s big win over Canyon. Don’t discount that Hereford has had an extra week to prepare after drawing the district’s open week last week. But Randall will want to play well entering the playoffs, especially considering the Raiders will be open to end the regular season. … Randall 48, Hereford 17

District 2-4A Division II

Perryton (2-6, 1-1) at Borger (2-6, 0-2), 7 p.m.
Both teams are desperate for a win, and Borger absolutely needs it. If Perryton wins, that will set the district’s playoff field, with the Rangers punching their postseason ticket along with Seminole, West Plains and Levelland, with Borger sitting at home. A Borger win would throw everything up in the air, with everybody still in the hunt heading into the final week of the regular season. Perryton has been more consistent offensively and is healthier, giving the Rangers a big advantage. … Perryton 35, Borger 21

– Lee Passmore
– Last week: 2-2 (.500)
– Season: 37-10 (.787)

District 2-3A Division I

Bushland (8-1, 2-1) at Dalhart (4-3, 1-1), 7 p.m.
It’s the regular season finale for the Falcons who have a bye week before the playoffs. There’s nothing more head coach Josh Reynolds and his team would love than to bounce back with a W to close the year before the postseason. … Bushland 40, Dalhart 20

Muleshoe (6-2, 1-1) at Shallowater (7-1, 2-0), 7 p.m.
Shallowater put itself on the Region I map last week with a big win at Bushland. Now the Mustangs can clinch a playoff spot with a home win against the Mules. … Shallowater 37, Muleshoe 21

District 3-3A Division II

Canadian (6-2, 3-0) at Tulia (3-5, 1-2), 7 p.m.
Don’t think for one second Canadian has forgotten about the Hornets handing the Wildcats one of the biggest upsets of the season a year ago. Things are much different now and the Wildcat offense has been rolling. … Canadian 42, Tulia 14

Childress (4-4, 2-1) at Dimmitt (0-8, 0-3), 7 p.m.
In this battle of Bobcats, expect Childress to stand tall at the end while clinching a spot in the postseason. … Childress 48, Dimmitt 15

Spearman (2-6, 1-2) at Friona (4-4, 2-1), 7 p.m.
The winner is a step closer to a playoff spot leaving the loser with work to do. … Friona 20, Spearman 13

District 1-2A Division I

Highland Park (2-6, 1-2) at Stratford (8-0, 3-0), 7 p.m.
The Elks take one more step towards a district title with a W. … Stratford 45, Highland Park 7

West Texas High (3-5, 0-3) at Farwell (7-1, 2-1), 7 p.m.
The Steers roll big to clinch a playoff berth at home. … Farwell 44, WT High 12

Panhandle (6-2, 2-1) at Sanford-Fritch (1-7, 1-2), 7 p.m.
The Panthers are too strong on the road for the Eagles. Panhandle also clinches a playoff spot with a win. … Panhandle 49, Fritch 13

District 1-2A Division II

Booker (4-3, 0-2) at Sunray (7-1, 2-0), 7 p.m.
Playing as good as they have been, Sunray can’t look past this matchup with a hard-nosed Booker team with a showdown with Vega looming next week. … Sunray 37, Booker 19

Gruver (6-3, 1-2) at Boys Ranch (4-4, 0-2), 7 p.m.
Both teams have been reeling of late and are in need of a win. This is the Greyhounds final regular season game, and a win punches a ticket to the postseason. The Roughriders are also in need of a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. … Gruver 32, Boys Ranch 21

District 2-2A Division II

Clarendon (6-2, 3-0) at Shamrock (6-2, 2-1), 7 p.m.
Here’s one of the better showcase games across the Texas Panhandle for Week 10. The Broncos have already secured a playoff berth but can challenge Wellington for the outright district next week with a win. Shamrock is wanting to prove they are one of the top teams in the region and are always tough at home. It was a great game last year, so expect the same this time around. … Clarendon 42, Shamrock 34

Memphis (4-4, 1-2) at Wheeler (1-7, 0-3), 7 p.m.
The Cylcones are headed to the postseason with a victory. If the Mustangs win, the fourth spot gets far more interesting. … Memphis 26, Wheeler 14

Quanah (1-7, 0-3) at Wellington (7-1, 3-0), 7 p.m.
The No. 3-ranked Skyrockets keeps on cruising on the way to a big one with Clarendon next week. … Wellington 50, Quanah 6

District 3-2A Division II

Bovina (3-5, 2-1) at Sudan (7-1, 3-0), 7 p.m.
It will take the Mustangs best effort to go on the road and take down the Hornets but it’s not out of the question. Bovina is still in good shape even with a loss. … Sudan 30, Bovina 20

– Kale Steed
– Last week: 13-1 (.928)
– Season 101-24 (.808)

District 1-1A Division I

McLean (7-1, 1-0) at Miami (5-3, 0-1), 7 p.m.
This is the Six-Man game of the night. A McLean win and they likely get a playoff spot. A Miami win and District 1-1A is in total chaos. … McLean 68 Miami 66

District 2-1A Division I

Wildorado (1-7, 0-1) at Happy (7-1, 1-0), 7 p.m.
The Cowboys picked up a hard-earned victory last week against a Mustang team that is reeling. … Happy 54 Wildorado 6

Claude (4-4, 1-0) at Nazareth (6-2, 0-1), 7 p.m.
If the Mustangs want any chance at a playoff spot, they have to upset the Swifts at home, but Naz plays tough there. … Nazareth 58 Claude 13

District 4-1A Division I

Valley (4-4, 0-1) at Knox City (6-2, 1-0), 7 p.m.
It’s been a rough year for the Patriots but a win on the road would leave the playoff door open. Look for the Greyhounds to shut that door. … Knox City 72 Valley 32

District 1-1A Division II

Groom (4-5, 3-0) at Lefors (0-7, 0-2), 7 p.m.
The Pirates are looking for their victory of the season, but it will have to come next week. … Groom 58 Lefors 13

Darrouzett (1-6, 0-2) at Hedley (3-5, 1-1), 7:30 p.m.
Hedley wants a shot at the playoffs and must take care of business to set up a “Battle of the Owls” with Silverton next week. … Hedley 52 Darrouzett 6
