Predicting UIL Class 3A realignment between schools in the Texas Panhandle and on South Plains is a ton of fun.
That’s sarcasm for anyone thinking trying to figure out this mess.
Both divisions have teams that could go north, could go south, and possibly east toward Wichita Falls. That’s what we’re dealing with.
Division I added Dalhart, which dropped in from Class 4A Division II. That sets the Golden Wolves up the to join Bushland, River Road, Muleshoe, Littlefield, but after that who knows? Does Shallowater stay north?
Slaton looks like a lock in the south district.
Highland Park could throw some kinks in Division II, as the Hornets make the leap from Class 2A Division I.
There are so many scenarios that could happen with the north district. Will the UIL go seven — Canadian, Childress, Dimmitt, Friona, Highland Park, Spearman and Tulia?
Childress could get shoved east to Wichita Falls, or either Dimmitt, Friona, Tulia could go south. Either way, they’ll be some anxious coaches ready to rip open their packets and get going Monday.
Here’s how I see the districts playing out.
