Hereford and Bushland highlighted a busy Tuesday night of volleyball in Bushland in a battle of two of the state’s best teams, and the match didn’t disappoint.

After falling behind early, the Lady Whitefaces rallied back to beat No. 2-ranked Bushland in a five-set thriller, 25-19, 21-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-10.

Hereford (5-1) gains a measure of revenge from a loss to the Lady Falcons earlier in the year. Bushland falls to 9–1, suffering its first regular loss in almost a year.

The Lady Falcons seemed in control up two sets to one until Hereford made a furious comeback in the last two sets.

Junior Taytum Stow was tremendous at the net. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker turned it up to another level knocking down 31 kills with six blocks. Bonnie Vallejo added 12 kills and 13 digs, while Rainey Aven dished out 49 assists.

Bushland was led by All-State standout Kinley Rudder, who had 20 kills and five aces. Hallie Conklin chipped in with 14 kills and 10 digs.
