Top 10 Texas Panhandle football performers from Week 6

Trace Mitchell, Canadian, WR, Sr. 

Mitchell was a part of a huge offensive performance from Canadian in a 56-21 rout of Randall on Friday night. Mitchell snagged 10 catches for 133 yards including a 38-yard touchdown catch for a score and 24-yard ran for another. The Wildcats had over 700 yards of offense in the win.

Mason Graham, Amarillo High, QB

The senior QB had a breakout performance during the Sandies much needed 56-20 win over Caprock in a key District 2-5A Division I clash. Graham picked a part the Longhorns defense going 20-of-31 passes for 357 yards throwing an eye-opening seven touchdown passes and rushing for another one for a total of eight TDs on the night.

Javin Cash, Canyon, QB-LB, Sr.

Cash did everything in his power to lead Canyon to a 44-30 win against Andrews. Cash was all over the field on defense making 16 tackles, ran a fumble back 41-yards for a touchdown, and had an interception. But the senior was called upon at QB to help the Eagles offense with starter Derreck Clements out the remainder of the regular season. Cash stepped up. Running out of the wildcat formation, Cash ran for 128 yards on 16 carries scoring three more times. Canyon closed non-district at 6-0.

Haiden Thompson, Miami, QB-LB, Jr.

Thompson continued his unbelievable season by doing absolutely everything to get Miami a thrilling 38-36 overtime victory at Groom on Friday. Offensively, Thompson toted the rock 23 times for an eye-popping 284 yards with three touchdowns. On the defensive side the junior made 20 tackles, and to clinch the win Thompson knocked through the game-winning extra-point.

Aurelio Medrano, Dumas, LB, Sr.

Dumas bounced back from a loss last week to Bushland by blanking El Paso Austin 47-0 on Thursday night. Medrano was a huge key to leading the strong defensive effort making 18 tackles, seven of those solo, with two tackles for a loss.

Bryce Lynn, Pampa, WR, So.

Lynn came through with late game heroics snagging an 18-yard pass to the corner of the endzone with 25 seconds to play that lifted Pampa past rival Borger in a thrilling 43-40 victory on Friday. Lynn was quarterback Michael Campos go-to target the entire night hauling in seven catches for 118 yards with two touchdowns.

Kade Crosby, Dalhart, WR, Sr.

Dalhart knocked off Levelland 33-24 and Crosby was definitely a player of the game candidate thanks to his tremendous effort for the Dalhart offense. The senior was the favorite weapon for QB Kyler Read making five catches for 185 yards, averaging 37 yards a catch, with two TDs.

Tate Butcher, Bushland, WR-DB, Sr.

Bushland stayed undefeated blasting El Paso Riverside 56-14 on Friday. Butcher played a big role on both sides of the ball during the win. Butcher snagged eight catches for 111 yards that included a 13-yard touchdown and returned a scoop and score off a blocked punt for another TD.

Ivan Torres, Muleshoe, WR, Sr.

The senior wide out continues to exceed every expectation as Muleshoe stayed hot beating previously unbeaten Brownfield 39-37. Torres showed his speed and his really good hands making nine catches for 109 yards for a pair of touchdowns.

Isaiah Brown, Boys Ranch, QB, Sr.

Brown showed off his dual-threat ability in a victory against Wheeler, 29-12. The senior was efficient going 9-of-14 through the air for 71 yards with three touchdown passes and chewed up 171 yards on the ground on 32 carries.
