Another week and another huge performance for one of the Texas Panhandle’s top passers. Lujan torched West Texas High for 373 yards on 24-of-46 attempts throwing five touchdowns. The sophomore also returned an interception for a pick six on defense. Through the first four games Lujan has already thrown for 1,235 yards with 15 touchdowns.

Ibanez was brilliant during the Demons 57-6 pummeling of Plainview. Ibanez threw for 185 yards and four scores, ran for 132 yards with two touchdowns, returned a pick six for a TD, and averaged 43 yards a punt. Not only was that impressive enough, but Ibanez was also named Homecoming King at halftime.

Pius Vokes, Amarillo High, RB, Jr.

Vokes is really starting to hit his groove and it showed during the Sandies 42-17 rout of Odessa High. Vokes showed off the wheels and his versatility stacking up 138 yards on the ground with two touchdowns on 14 carries, while making three catches for 78 yards and a score.

Camren Cavalier, Canadian, QB, Jr.

Zane Burr, Stratford, RB-LB, Sr.

Burr bullied the Vega defense in a 35-8 win to keep Stratford unbeaten. Offensively, the hard-nosed senior ran for a game-high 102 yards a pair of touchdowns including a 31-yard dash. On the defensive side of the ball the linebacker racked up 12 tackles. The Elks have won 16 straight games dating back to last season.

Jmaury Davis, Clarendon, RB, Sr.

For the second straight week the senior standout used the most of his opportunites to steal the show on the stat sheet. During Clarendon’s 55-8 win at Smyer Davis was a complete mismatch carrying the ball only five times for an eye-opening 205 yards, averaging an incredible 41 yards a carry, scoring three touchdowns. Over the past two weeks, Davis has accounted for 522 yards rushing.

Reid Macon, West Plains, QB, Fr.

When West Plains looks back at its historic first win in program history the school will see it was a freshman quarterback that helped make it happen. The Wolves earned their first ever victory against Palo Duro on Thursday 28-26 while Macon played like anything but a freshman. Macon managed the offense finishing the game 19-of-33 for 270 yards with a pair of TD tosses.

Stephen Kuehler, Groom, SB, Sr.

Kuehler ensured he would do whatever it took to get Groom its first win of the season. On the defensive side of the ball Kuehler made 11 tackles.
