Hunter Wilkinson, Borger, Sr. DB

The senior leader did everything in his power to snap Borger’s 15-game losing skid in a thrilling 23-20 home win against Lubbock Estacado. Wilkinson provided the fireworks when he intercepted a pass and returned it for the eventual game-winning TD with three minutes to play. On top of that heroic moment, Wilkinson was stellar defensively making 25 tackles, 19 of which were solo, and forcing two fumbles.

Stetson Jameson, Happy, Sr. SB

Jameson put the Cowboys on his back in a key 59-44 win against District 1-1A Division I rival White Deer. The explosive spread back broke loose for seven touchdowns rushing for 236 yards on 26 carries. If that wasn’t enough, Jameson made 11 tackles with a sack on defense.

Nathan Baker, Randall, So. WR

The Raiders moved to 2-2 on the year with a 59-0 thumping of Lubbock High, and Baker was a big reason why. The sophomore had four catches for 94 yards, averaging 23.5 yards a catch, with a touchdown.

Brenton Heeter, Perryton, Sr. RB

The senior running back had his second straight big game as the Rangers stayed hot throttling Levelland 34-7 in a District 2-4A Division II matchup. Heeter finished a game-high 126 yards including a touchdown.

The 6-foot-3, 205 pound sophomore couldn’t be stopped leading Panhandle to a 67-50 shootout victory against rival West Texas High. Hack chewed up yards throughout, especially in the second half finishing the contest with an eye-opening 218 yards on only 13 carries, for a 16.7 yard average, with four touchdowns.

Collin Bishop, Childress, Jr. QB

The junior gunslinger torched the Friona secondary in a key 50-26 District 3-3A Division II win Friday. Bishop completed 18-of-26 passes for 366 yards with two touchdown tosses. He also added two scores on the ground.

Coleman Junell, Bushland, Sr. QB

It seems like every week Junell grows more comfortable in his QB role, and Friday wasn’t any different. Junnel picked a part River Road in a 41-7 victory going 13-of-18 for 235 yards spreading the ball around for four touchdown passes. Junell also added an 11-yard scamper for a score.

Hesston Marshall, Wheeler, Sr. QB-RB

Since making the move to quarterback Marshall has become even more dynamic. In Friday’s 39-16 win against county rival Shamrock, Marshall used his arm throwing for 221 yards and three touchdown tosses. On the ground the speedy back chewed up 86 yards and a TD.

Corey Stancell, Farwell, Fr. RB

The freshman is on to keep an eye on as he continues to frustrate defenses by the week. Stancell had another terrific performance grinding out 225 yards on 18 totes with three touchdowns as his Steers shutout Sanford-Fritch 42-0. Defensively, Stancell also did his part making 12 tackles including a sack.

Trevor Bell, Stratford, Sr. QB

Stratford showed why they’ll be a force in Class 2A Division II, opening District 3-2A play by blasting rival Sunray 62-25. Bell, a dual-threat QB, had his best game to date passing for 225 yards on 16-of-27 attempts with three touchdowns. Bell was even effective on the ground going 65 yards for another score.
