Tascosa graduate King Doerue continues to be a key cog in the Purdue offense.
The true freshman was a major contributor, helping lead the Boilermakers to a 31-27 home win against Nebraska in a Big 10 Conference contest Saturday.
Doerue had a superb day on the ground, carrying the ball 15 times for 71 yards that included a 7-yard touchdown, giving Purdue a 24-20 fourth quarter lead.
Doerue, who was an All-State running back for the Rebels only a year ago, showed his versatility, catching five passes for 31 yards and a TD.
On the season, Doerue has 107 carries for 360 yards and four scores. He’s also snagged 16 catches for 116 yards with two more touchdowns.
