Randall put its stamp on a third straight District 3-5A championship in fitting fashion, sweeping the season series from Bell Street arch-rival Amarillo High, 25-23, 25-22, 27-25, at home Saturday afternoon.

The No. 3-ranked Lady Raiders winning ways has become remarkable during this string of district titles.

Randall (36-3 overall, 15-0 in district) has five straight wins over its nemesis Amarillo High, including two straight season sweeps.

The Lady Raiders have won 41 straight district matches with the last loss coming to the Lady Sandies on Sept. 23, 2017.

During Saturday’s win, the two teams went back-and-forth but unlike the first meeting, AHS was unable to steal a set despite being in every single game.

Senior Brianna Ford continues to hurt the Lady Sandies. She was the key component in the first win, and the outsider hitter was clutch again Saturday. Ford tallied a nine kills, 10 digs and was strong at the net with nine blocks.

The Lady Sandies (28-13, 13-2) will be the No. 2-seed out of the district during the upcoming Class 5A playoffs.

Hannah Shipman led AHS with 28 assists.

Randall def. Amarillo High 25-23, 25-22, 27-25.

Records: Amarillo High 28-13, 13-2; Randall 36-3, 15-0.
