1.   Four Six-man remain undefeated

Through the first three weeks of the season 16 Texas Panhandle teams still stand undefeated, including four Six-man schools. Those schools are Follett, Happy, Valley and Wildorado. So far Happy has looked impressive, Follett and Valley are much improved from last year and Wildorado has been a pleasant surprise to start the season.

2.  No Happy hands Springlake-Earth first loss

It was a scoring frenzy Friday night when Happy was able to put away the Springlake-Earth Wolverines 77-30.

Happy (3-0) looks to be a real contender throughout the early portion of the season.

Cowboys running back Stetson Jameson continues his torrid pace to start the year as the Wolverines chewing up 324 yards on 21 carries with six touchdowns. He also added a receiving touchdown.

3. Groom finds its groove

The Groom Tigers stepped up and showed their fans how good they could be during an impressive 52-40 performance against Nazareth. Groom (2-1) was led by its gunslinger, Gunnar Lamb who threw for 176 yards and threw scores, tacked on 117 yards on the ground with two more TDs. Lamb aslo caught a 17-yard touchdown pass.

4. Wildorado continues early season success

Defense has been the name of the game for the Mustangs in their first three games of the season. After shutting out Darrouzett and Patton Springs, Wildorado allowed only one score to Cotton Center in its 60-6 victory Friday night.

5. Undefeated teams set to collide

The Follett Panthers and Wildorado Mustangs have made a name for themselves through the first three weeks of the season. The Panthers seemed to have that spark of the past decade before slump last season, while the Mustangs are turning heads at 3-0 in their first UIL varsity season. These two unbeaten teams will now collide at 7 p.m. Friday in Follett to see win an anticipated battle of the unbeaten.

6. Hedley‘s unbeaten start comes to end

It was a tight game all the way until the final horn rang, but the Owls undefeated streak was cut short in their 46-39 loss to Vernon Northside Friday night. Although short lived, the early success of this young team could be the jump start they need to be competitive to start the year. The Owls have had their taste of winning, so not expect them to go hungry
