H.S. Volleyball roundup: Caprock stays unbeaten in 3-5A; Tascosa takes down Canyon

Caprock is getting the job done in the early portion of the District 3-5A schedule.
On Tuesday night, hosting crosstown rival Palo Duro, the Lady Longhorns showed no sign of letting up by taking care of the Lady Dons in a three-game sweep.
The Lady Longhorns owned the match from start to finish, taking the victory by scores of 25-11, 25-13, 25-19.
Caprock’s Aubrianna Hernandez passed out 30 assists, Raygan Lopez had 10 kills and Avery Preble chipped in with seven digs and four aces.
The win keeps the Lady Longhorns unbeaten in District 3-5A at 2-0 and are now an impressive 17-9 overall. Palo Duro drops to 6-15, 0-2.

Randall opens 3-5A with a W: As expected the No. 3-ranked Randall Lady Raiders cruised to a, 25-10, 25-18, 25-13, sweep of Lubbock High on the road Tuesday.
The red hot Lady Raiders move to 22-3 overall and 1-0 in District 3-5A. They also push their district win streak to 17 straight dating back to last year.
Randall’s Toryn Barrientos led the way with 24 digs and six digs. Zoe Parker added 11 kills with four digs.

AHS dominates Coronado: Amarillo High went on the road and took care of business getting a, 25-12, 25-14, 25-15, sweep of Lubbock Coronado on Tuesday night.
The Lady Sandies stay atop the District 3-5A standings at 2-0 while improving to 16-11 overall. The Lady Mustangs fall to 16-9, 1-1.
Chelsie Freeman and Lauren Marler were strong at the net for AHS. Freeman knocked down 10 kills, followed by Marler with six kills and four blocks.

Tascosa sweeps Canyon: The Tascosa Lady Rebels got back on the winning track by downing Canyon, 25-21, 25-17, 25-17 on Tuesday at the THS Activity Center.
The Lady Rebels (15-9 overall) were seemingly in control the entire night of the nondistrict matchup behind the strong play of Taryn Galt.
The senior outside hitter ended her night a game-high 19 kills. Aaliyah Hardy continues to have a big year, dishing out 27 assists to go with 10 digs.
Canyon (15-13 overall) was led by Bryli Contreras’ 22 digs.

Hereford downs Dumas:In what could be a future Class 4A playoff matchup, Hereford traveled north to Dumas and came away with a,25-8, 25-11, 22-25, 25-15 victory.
The Lady Whitefaces are now 15-12 overall while the Demonettes fall to 14-12.
Hereford’s size was the difference in the match. Darcy Dodd and Taytum Stowe combined for 33 kills. Dodd had a game-high 18 kills, followed by Stowe’s 15.

Bushland beats Trinity: It was a rare four set match for Bushland, which took down Lubbock Trinity in four sets on Tuesday night in Lubbock.
Despite a lull in the second set, the No. 3 Lady Falcons came away with a 25-10, 21-25, 25-9, 25-18 victory.
Bushland is also able to push its record to an astounding 27-1 mark on the year.
Setters Ansley Sims and Taryn Schultz were tremendous. Sims dished out 48 assists to go with seven digs, four kills and two aces. Schultz added 40 assists with three kills and two digs.

HP handles Childress: It was another day at the office for the Highland Park Lady Hornets, nabbing a 25-11, 25-20, 25-15 sweep at home against Childress on Tuesday.
Senior outside hitter Cynarah Rodriguez set the tone in the victory, racking up a double-double with 10 kills and 10 assists. Bailey Harrison added to the performance with a team-high seven aces to go with five digs.
The Lady Hornets improve to 19-7 on the season thanks to the win.
