Tascosa (3-1) vs. Brownsville Hanna (2-2), 5 p.m. Anthony Field at Wildcats Stadium, Abilene. 

Hanna beat the Rebs last year so no problem with motivation in this one. Tascosa offense starting to click and that will be enough in this one. ... Tascosa 38, Hanna 24

Palo Duro (2-2, 0-0) vs. Caprock (0-4, 0-0), 7:30 p.m. 

District 2-5A D-I opener between AISD teams. Hmmm. Here’s the deal. Rock played a tougher nondistrict schedule. PD owning momentum from strong win over Borger. ... Caprock 21, Palo Duro 20

Frenship (3-1) at Randall (1-3), 7 p.m.

Dumas (4-0) at Wichita Falls Rider (2-2), 7 p.m. Memorial Stadium.

Could we be seeing a future Class 2A Division II state semifinal matchup in September. Elks out of Region I are ranked No. 10 in the state, and are more than eager to get a crack at a Hamlin team from Region II that’s ranked No. 1 in DII. It should be a dandy in Abernathy.
