West Texas A&M made it two wins in a row thanks to an absolute thumping of first-year football program North American 56-0 on Saturday night on J-Ferg Field at Buffaloes Stadium.

The Stallions aren’t a normal opponent the Buffs face during a season but when you’re one of a 10 Division II schools playing in the midst of a pandemic, finding games can be scarce.

WT (3-2 overall) totaled 514 offensive yards with 345 of those coming on the a steady run game that featured seven backs. Brandon Blair carried it three times for 24 yards with two touchdowns. Khalil Harris had his second straight superb performance tallying 58 yards, and Prince Ugwu added 69 yards on seven carries.

Quarterback Nick Gerber was efficient in a short night of work. The Levelland graduate was 8-of-9 for 129 yards hitting two touchdown passes to Chase Sojka. Sojka had a career effort against the Stallions hauling in his two passes for two TDs, including a 78-yarder to open the scoring.

Andrews graduate and true freshman Brett Leach made his college debut. Leach completed 4-of-5 passes for 40 yards and ran for his first collegiate career touchdown.

The Buff defense stifled the Stallions to 203 total yards, and just 54 yards on the ground.

Safety Satchel Escalante racked up 11 tackles with a sack and a 27-yard fumble return for his second TD in as many weeks.

WT heads into a bye week before hosting Missouri Westen on Nov. 14.
