District 4-4A

Pampa wins marathon over Dumas

Pampa and Dumas battled back and forth in a classic five-set match with the Lady Harvesters coming away with a hard fought, 23-25, 25-15, 16-25, 34-32, 15-9, come-from-behind win on Saturday.

The victory was key for Pampa as the first half of District 4-4A came to a close. The Lady Harvesters (20-11) took over fourth place at 4-3 in district. Dumas (21-15) falls a game behind Pampa at 3-4 at the midpoint of league play.

Pampa senior Mikalie Floyd capped off a huge week with an unbelievable performance knocking down 18 kills and playing amazing defense wih 36 digs for a double-double. Teammate Maecie Hawthorne did her job with 51 assists and Mazi Smith had a team-high 29 kills with five blocks.

Dumas was led by Hallie Coon with 15 kills, 16 assists, and five blocks. Brooklyn Sianez racked up a double-double as well hitting the floor for 26 digs and had an eye-opening 13 blocks.

Randall, Hereford, West Plains win 

Randall completed the first half of District 4-4A unbeaten after sweeping Perryton 25-11, 25-10, 25-7 on Saturday.

The Lady Raiders are all alone in first place of the district at 7-0 and move to 26-8 overall. Perryton (11-17) has had a tough stretch in the league falling to 0-7.

Randall setter Sidney Soria had 28 assists as she hit a milestone going over 1,000 assists for her career. Brooke Henderson had four kills and five digs, Jorydn Gove added nine kills with five aces, and Kandree Perez had five kills with four aces.

Hereford swept rival Canyon 25-13, 25-20, 25-13, to stay a game back of Randall in the district standings.

London Baker earned a double-double for the Lady Whitefaces passing around 34 assists and tacking on 11 digs. Camryn Blair and Nickilah Whatley each had 15 kills.

Hereford (27-7) moves to 6-1 in District 4-4A. Canyon (7-27) falls to 2-5.

West Plains finished a very successful first half of district action with a 25-11, 25-19, 25-16, sweep of Borger.

The Lady Wolves improve to 26-5 overall and 5-2 in league play. Borger drops to 15-14, 1-6.

Brooklyn Garcia led West Plains with 11 kills. The sister combination of Zenaida and Cecilia Murillo totaled 30 assists. Zenaida had 17 on the day and Cecilia added 13. Teammate McCall Sims was great defensively tallying 12 digs with two aces.

Borger’s Katie Buchanan had five kills with a block. Alex Sheppard added five blocks.

District 3-5A

Tascosa stays unbeaten in district

The Tascosa Lady Rebels swept Palo Duro, 25-22, 25-14, 25-14, to remain unbeaten in District 3-5A.

Tascosa (20-14) is now 3-0 in the league race while Palo Duro falls to 14-15, 0-2.

Meredith Sanning registered 37 assists. Bennet Berryman hit the floor for 21 digs and Saphina Stanley and Megan Sims combined for 21 kills.

Caprock gets first district win 

Caprock had to earn it, however, the Lady Longhorns went on the road and took down Plainview in five-sets, 25-18, 25-23, 17-25, 23-25, 15-7, on Saturday afternoon.

It was a well needed victory for the Lady Longhorns who get their first win in District 3-5A improving to 1-2 and 18-14 overall. Plainview slips to 12-12, 0-2.

Olivia Hurnes had a big effort going for 19 kills, three blocks and an ace. Zaybrie Huerta added 12 kills with a block while Lilliana Rangel handed out 29 assists with four aces and three kills.

District 1-3A

Bushland showcases new bling in win against Dalhart

It was a very special Saturday afternoon in Bushland.

Not only did the No. 1-ranked Lady Falcons sweep Dalhart 25-14, 25-12, 25-10, for their unreal 75th straight district win dating back to 2011, but the Lady Falcons team and coaching staff received their UIL Class 3A state championship rings they won last November.

Bushland is in full command of District 1-3A improving to 2-0 and 29-4 overall. Dalhart drops to 11-16, 1-2. Abby Howell, Kaela Neie and Madyson Eberly all had seven kills a-piece. Eberly added three blocks and two aces. Logan Culpepper, the daughter of head coach Jason Culpepper, dished out 21 assists adding three kills.

Friona stayed a game back of Bushland by getting a dominating sweep of Dimmitt 25-13, 25-9, 25-8, on Saturday.

The Squaws advance to 2-1 in District 1-3A and 15-11 overall. Dimmitt drops to 3-24, 0-2.

District 1-2A 

Highland Park stays perfect, Vega wins 

Highland Park stayed atop the league standings by sweeping Sanford-Fritch 25-9, 25-11, 25-12.

Kyra Courtemanche powered home 15 kills. Mercedes Harton added 26 assists and five aces. Teammate Kierra Kosechata had a team-high seven aces.

Highland Park is now 3-0 in District 1-2A and 25-7 overall. Fritch is 12-14, 1-2.

Vega picked up its first win in the league by sneaking past Memphis in five-sets 19-25, 25-16, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11.

Jaz Martinez earned a double-double for the Lady Longhorns knocking down 14 kills with 10 digs. Addi Bidegain had a great game with 20 assists, six aces and three blocks.

Ava Arant of Memphis tallied a nine kill and nine assist effort. Macaela Graham registered 12 assists.

Vega improves to 8-17 overall and 1-3 in District 1-2A. Memphis is now 8-14, 0-3.

District 1-1A

Miami holds off Wildorado 

The Miami Lady Warriors went on the road and got themselves a big four-set victory 25-21, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, on Saturday.

Miami (9-18) is a perfect 2-0 in District 1-1 taking over first place. Wildorado (7-12) is 2-1 in the league.

Mercedes Hartwig was stellar in the victory for Miami earning a double-double with 17 kills and 15 digs to go with eight blocks and three aces. Teammate Bella-Lynn Calvert had a double-double of her own with 21 assists and 16 digs, adding five aces.

Fort Elliott defeated Kelton in the other district match. Scores weren’t reported to Press Pass Sports.

TAPPS District 1-3A

San Jacinto gets win 

San Jacinto Christian Academy took down Weatherford Christian in a four-set 21-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-18, victory on Saturday.

SJCA improves to 21-10 overall and 5-4 in TAPPS District 1-3A. Harlie Brabham led the team with 12 assists and was big at the net. Macee Reid had a team-high 10 kills, followed by Ashlyn Dixon’s eight kills. Addiston Stanley tallied four aces.
