Hereford head volleyball coach Catherine (Beville) Foerster is on the move, accepting the same position at Class 4A Decatur.
Foerster is leaving Hereford after guiding the Lady Whitefaces to a 35-15 record last fall, on top of a UIL Class 4A state runner up appearance. It was the school’s first run to the state tournament in 11 years.
Foerster decision couldn’t have been an easy one. The 2003 Hereford graduate was a standout for the Lady Whitefaces, helping guide her hometown to two state titles in 1999 and 2001.
Foerster has spent the past six seasons leading the Lady Whitefaces back to a powerful prominence, boasting a 196-146 overall mark at the school, as well as never missing the playoffs.
“It was very difficult,” Foerster said. “It was probably the most difficult decision of my life. Hereford is my home and I’ve known these girls, and coached most of them since they were 11-years old. But the opportunity to move near the Metroplex and the excitement to be in Decatur, and prove myself somewhere new was hard to pass up.”
Foerster is taking over a Decatur program that won the Class 4A state championship in 2018.
