H.S. Volleyball roundup: Randall sweeps past rival Canyon; AHS-Tascosa cruise, Highland Park wins

The battle of Canyon ISD opened the second full week of high school volleyball with Randall besting Canyon in sweeping fashion, 25-11, 25-16, 25-23, Tuesday night at the First United Bank Center.

The powerful duo of Paris Patterson and Jordyn Gove gave a young Lady Eagles squad fits. Gove, a sophomore outside hitter, collected a team-high 13 kills to go with 18 digs. The senior Patterson was a nice compliment tallying 11 kills and 14 digs. Randall improves to 5-2 overall.

Amarillo High and Tascosa both dominated in its respective non-district matchups.

The Lady Sandies (4-2 overall) went on the road to knock off Frenship in four sets, 25-16, 20-25, 25-17, 25-12.

Senior standout Currie Marusak knocked down 16 kills to go with 14 digs. Teammate Jo Moffitt set up 38 assists.

Tascosa had no issues taking care of Midland High with a home sweep, 25-23, 25-19, 25-9.

Liv Sims stole the show with 23 kills, as Abrey Galt dished out 35 assists.

The Lady Rebels move to 8-4 overall on the season.

Highland Park was impressive at home Tuesday sweeping Wildorado, 25-16, 25-16, 25-16.

Senior and All-State hitter Nevaeh Rodriguez shined thanks to 12 kills, nine digs and five aces. The Lady Hornets improve to 6-2 with the victory.

The most outstanding performance Tuesday definitely goes to Pampa’s Mikalie Floyd in her efforts helping the Lady Harvesters sink Levelland, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-18. Floyd earned a triple-double, pounding down 23 kills, racking up an eye-opening 13 aces, and hitting the floor for 15 digs.
