H.S. Volleyball roundup: Randall, Caprock roll; Canyon, Dumas, Hereford, Pampa clinch playoff spots

The wins keep on piling up for the Randall Lady Raiders as they quick work of Plainview with a convincing sweep at home 25-7, 25-6, 25-13 on Saturday.

The Lady Raiders stay perfect in District 3-5A, moving to 13-0 and 34-3 overall.

Randall also pushed its impressive streak to 39 straight district wins dating back to 2017.

Stevie Reynecke led the team Saturday, knocking down nine kills to go with three blocks.

Caprock kept its playoff hopes alive with a sweep at Lubbock High, 25-18, 25-23, 25-15.

The Lady Longhorns are 6-8 in district and 21-15 overall. Caprock trails Lubbock Cooper (25-16, 7-6) by a game for the fourth and final spot.

Randall def. Plainview 25-7, 25-6, 25-13.

Tascosa inches closer to first place

Thanks to a Tascosa sweep of Odessa Permian and a Frenship loss to Midland High on Friday night, the Lady Rebels were close to within a game of first place in the District 2-6A standings.

After an 0-2 start to district, Tascosa (22-14) is now red hot, winning its fifth straight match on the road Friday, sweeping Permian 25-23, 25-18, 25-15.

Frenship (29-8) is 6-1 in league play, leaving Tascosa right on its heels at 5-2 in District 2-6A with three games remaining.

Bebe Irwin had a team-best 13 kills while Aliyah Hardy added 30 assists in the win over Permian.

Tascosa def. Odessa Permian 25-23, 25-18, 25-15.

Canyon, Hereford clinch postseason berth

Hereford and Canyon clinched postseason berths over the weekend.

The Lady Eagles swept Lamesa 25-12, 25-14, 25-8 on Friday night.

Canyon improves to 24-15 and 5-1 overall.

Emma Crenshaw and Zoey Sparks had eight kills in the victory.

Hereford also earned a sweep, downing Lubbock Estacado 25-10, 25-9, 25-12 at home Saturday.

The Lady Whitefaces (27-13) keep a stronghold on first place in District 3-4A at 5-0.

Taytum Stow had 11 kills with three blocks to lead Hereford against Estacado.

Canyon def. Lamesa 25-12, 25-14, 25-8.

Dumas and Pampa are playoff bound

Both Dumas and Pampa clinched Class 4A playoff spots on Saturday.

The District 4-4A leading Lady Harvesters (23-10, 5-0) kept a perfect mark in league play with a sweep of Perryton, 25-19, 25-15, 25-15 at home.

Dumas handled Borger in a 25-18, 25-13, 25-10 sweep, improving to 19-18, 5-1.
