H.S. Soccer roundup: Randall boys pull off historic win; AHS girls take nail-biter, Canyon rolls

Boys

Randall’s Juan Garcia netted two goals, while goalie Austin Contreras kept Amarillo High off the scoreboard to give the Raiders their first ever program win over the Sandies in school history, 2-0.

Jaime Carrillo of Palo Duro scored twice, as George Martinez dished out two assists during the Dons 4-0 blanking of Lubbock Coronado.

Dumas’ Estevan Tinoco scored a hat trick all in the second half to lift the Demons past Canyon 4-0 in a District 3-4A opener.

Girls

Amarillo High’s Nicole Gray scored in the 34th minute off an assist from Lily Sobey during the Lady Sandies hard fought 1-0 victory at Bell Street rival, Randall. AHS goalie Kloie Mills was sharp in the net with five saves.

Emorie Sautter of Caprock posted two second half goals within 12 minutes that was the difference in the Lady Longhorns 2-1 win against Lubbock Cooper.

Canyon’s Erin Folkner blistered Dumas during a 7-0 rout. Folkner ended her stellar night with two goals and two assists. Teammates Rachel Kelley Mackenzie Roberts also netted two goals in the win.
