El Paso Pebble Hills (5-5) at Tascosa (7-3), 6 p.m. Dick Bivins Stadium

Tascosa is coming off an impressive win over Frenship with QB Joseph Plunk running for a school-record 309 yards. Tascosa won’t disappoint its home crowd with the Flex-bone offense too much for Pebble. … Tascosa  48, Pebble Hills 28

Class 5A

Randall (3-7) at Justin Northwest (6-4), 6:30 p.m. Northwest ISD Stadium.

Did Randall impress or what last week in that close loss to Lubbock Cooper?  And how about Justin NW losing its opening four games and winning its last six? This is an interesting one. Go with the home team. Barely. … Justin NW 31, Randall 28

Class 4A-3A

Pampa (8-2) vs. Gainesville (8-2), 7 p.m. Leo Brittain Field at Lions Stadium. 

The Harvesters are headed into the playoffs with some much needed momentum after a solid run in the district. This matchup against the Leopards is about as even a bidistrict pairing can get. … Pampa 35, Gainesville 32.

Decatur (10-0) vs Canyon (6-4), 7 p.m. Fair Park Stadium, Childress.

It’d be interesting to see this Canyon team at full strength. Instead, injuries took a toll, followed by a four-game losing skid. Canyon hangs in this matchup of Eagles, but Decatur is the real deal. … Decatur 37, Canyon 20.

Springtown (9-1) vs Hereford (5-5), 7 p.m. Tiger Stadium, Snyder

This is another intriguing matchup that could easily be played in the regional round. The Whitefaces are a tough out, but the Porcupines seem to have the upper hand. … Springtown 32, Hereford 18.  

Dumas (10-0) vs Wichita Falls Hirschi (5-4), 4 p.m. PlainsCapital Park-Lowrey Field, Lubbock.

Dumas finished off the regular season undefeated for the first time in 22 years. Ironically, it’s the last time the Demons won a playoff game. Coincidence? I think not. … Dumas 32, Wichita Falls Hirschi 20.

Dalhart (6-4) vs Snyder (3-7), 7 p.m. Greg Sherwood Memorial Bulldogs Stadium, Plainview.

The Golden Wolves have flown under the radar all year, but will make some noise in the opening round of the playoffs. … Dalhart 43, Snyder 14.

Bushland (10-0) vs. Tornillo (1-9), 6 p.m. Mustangs Stadium, Denver City.

Yes, that’s Tornillo’s real record. … Bushland 62, Tornillo 7. 

Anson (7-3) vs Friona (8-2), 7 p.m. Friday, Redman Memorial Stadium, Post. 

These two teams play very different styles of football. If the Chieftains can win the game up front, they advance. … Friona 27, Anson 22.

Childress (4-6) vs Ballinger (8-2), 7 p.m. Friday, Graham’s Newton Field.

How bout them Bobcats. After an 0-5 start to the year, Childress turned it around going 4-1 in district play. Expect the momentum to keep going. … Childress 27, Ballinger 20.

West Texas (8-2) vs Olton (6-4), 7 p.m. Friday, Wildcat Stadium, River Road.

West Texas High, led by dual threat QB Avian Cruz, has put together a phenomenal regular season. After winning District 1-2A Division II, the Comanches look forward to a nice playoff run…starting with a win over the Mustangs. … West Texas High 49, Olton 14.

Panhandle (8-2) vs Sundown (6-4), 4 p.m. Friday, Kimbrough Stadium.

The Panthers have hit a few bumps in the road during the regular season, but Friday’s Sundown matchup will be the perfect start to a successful playoff berth. … Panhandle 56, Sundown 25.

Farwell (7-3) vs McCamey (3-7), 7 p.m. Friday, Lamesa’s Tornado Stadium.

The Steers travel to Lamesa to take on a struggling McCamey team. Farwell has seen much success in 2019, and is not settled on basketball season yet. … Farwell 35, McCamey 26.

Tahoka (8-2) vs Gruver (6-4), 8 p.m. Friday, Kimbrough Stadium.

The Greyhounds have been plagued with injury but will rise to the challenge and nab a win over the Bulldogs in a close one. … Gruver 28, Tahoka 26

Ralls (9-1) vs Clarendon (6-4), 7 p.m. Friday,, Younger Field, Tulia.

This is one of the most evenly matched No. 2-seed vs. No. 3-seeds in the state. The Jackrabbits schedule isn’t anything compared to the battle tested Broncos. … Clarendon 26, Ralls 21.

Class 1A

Petersburg (6-3) vs. White Deer (8-2), 5 p.m. Valley HS.

This is the matchup of the night in Region I. The Bucks are the clear favorites in this one, but Petersburg is hot and that all you need at this point in the year. The Bucks defense may bend, but it will not break. … White Deer 56 Petersburg 40.

McLean (9-1) vs. Happy (7-3), 7 p.m. Valley HS

The Tigers were able to tame the Cowboys in their first matchup, 53-6. McLean has been dominant as of late and their run should continue. … McLean 64, Happy 8.

Motley County (7-3) vs. Lefors (5-4), 7 p.m. Friday, Silverton

Lefors has had its ups and downs this season, but have proven  to be a capable team. The Matadors on the other hand are one of the regions best and will prove it Friday night. Motley County 74, Lefors 28.

Groom (8-2) vs. Kress (6-4), 7:30 p.m. Friday, Claude The Tigers will look to make a big statement in this first round matchup. Expect them to get the ball rolling quick on offense. … Groom 56, Kress 6.
