Palo Duro (1-1) vs. Tascosa (1-1), 7:30 p.m. Dick Bivins Stadium.

The Dons have all the momentum coming off a nice comeback win over Plainview. But these Rebs are ticked off after that late loss to Amarillo high. Tascosa o–line is the difference. … Tascosa 42, Palo Duro 13.

Class 5A

Amarillo High (1-1) at Wichita Falls Rider (1-1), 7 p.m. Memorial Stadium.

Which Amarillo High team will we see? Week one struggle or week two beast? Rider is legit. I see the week two Sandies winning the final quarter and the game. … AHS 28, WF Rider 27

Caprock (0-2) at Lubbock Estacado (2-0), 7:30 p.m. PlainsCapital Park-Lowrey Field:

The Rock is still upbeat despite some tough injuries and an 0-2 start. But the mighty run game of Estacado isn’t the team to get well on.  … Estacado 42, Caprock 21.

Class 4A-3A

Randall (1-1) at Hereford (1-1), 7 p.m. Both offenses struggled to get any momentum going in losses last week. With two good defenses, expect a slugfest for four quarters. … Hereford 20, Randall 16. 

Lamesa (0-2) at Canyon (2-0), 7 p.m. The Eagles are soaring on both sides of the football. Lamesa better buckle the chin straps or they could be in for a long night at The Bro. … Canyon 47, Lamesa 13. 

Pampa (1-1) at Vernon (0-2), 7 p.m. The Harvester showed a lot of grit against a very skilled Lubbock Estacado team last Friday. If Pampa continues to play like they did, expect them to find the win column Friday night. … Pampa 37, Vernon 16.

Wichita Falls High (0-2) at Dumas (2-0) 7 p.m.  Dumas has been nothing but impressive in the first two games of the year so far. Don’t think they haven’t forgotten a loss to the Coyotes a year ago either. … Dumas 29, WF High 14. 

Wellington (2-0) at Abernathy (2-0), 7:30 p.m. The small school game of the night takes place on the South Plains. It’s a matchup of two of the areas great players also. Wellington’s John Michael Holcomb against Abernathy’s Bryson Daily. This is a pick’em in a lot of people’s eyes. I got the Antelopes in a close one. … Abernathy 30, Wellington 23.

Dalhart (1-1) at River Road (0-2), 7 p.m. It doesn’t show it in the W column but the Wildcats are a much improved team. This is going to be a physical matchup where every possession counts. … River Road 27, Dalhart 22.

Bushland (2-0) at Borger (1-1), 7 p.m. One thing is for sure, the Falcons can score points. The Bulldogs gained some confidence with a victory at Lubbock High, but slowing down a potent Falcons attack is a tough task. … Bushland 45, Borger 14. 

Canadian (2-0) at Perryton (1-1), 7 p.m. Two old Highway 83 rivals clash at Rangers Stadium. The No. 2-ranked Wildcats have owned this series since the turn of the century. Will they notch another win? Or can the Rangers shock the state. … Canadian 30, Perryton 14. 

Muleshoe (0-2) at Friona (2-0), 7 p.m. It’s another rendition of the battle of Parmer County. I’d like to say it’d be a war, but the Mules are in a tailspin while the Chieftains seen to be locked and loaded. … Friona 45, Muleshoe 8.

Sanford-Fritch (0-2) at Tulia (1-1), 7 p.m. The Eagles have yet to find an identity. The Hornets gained a victory last week over Floydada but still have a ways to go. … Tulia 26, Sanford-Fritch 19. 

Shamrock (0-2) at Dimmitt (0-2), 7 p.m. This is a game between two teams desperate for a win. Both can score points, however, it’s stopping their opponent from scoring that’s been the problem. If you’re a fan, it could get entertaining. … Dimmitt 43, Shamrock 30.

Spearman (2-0) at Sunray (0-2), 7 p.m.

The Lynx have had a successful opening to the 2019 season. Expect Spearman to continue that success Friday at Sunray as they battle a struggling Bobcat team. … Spearman 42, Sunray 6

Childress (0-2) at Panhandle (2-0), 7 p.m.

The Bobcats have bettered Panhandle the last two seasons. This will be the year the Panthers gain an edge over Childress as they spread the ball around in a fast-paced fashion. Panhandle takes this one at home. … Panhandle 42, Childress 27

Highland Park (2-0) at Vega (2-0), 7 p.m.

It’s a battle of unbeatens this week in Vega as upstart Highland Park looks to down a stout Longhorn team. The Hornets are coming off of a big win over Clarendon while Vega blasted rival Boys Ranch. Vega will get the better of the Hornets in this one. … Vega 35, Highland Park 26. 

Gruver (2-0) at West Texas High (2-0), 7 p.m.

Perhaps one of the bigger games in the Texas Panhandle this week will take place at Stinnett this Friday. Gruver is led by senior quarterback and Oklahoma commit Jalin Conyers who is a former Comanche. West Texas High is a versatile offensive unit that will want to utilize its speed. Aim for a great ball game. … Gruver 36, West Texas High 33

Boys Ranch (0-2) at Hale Center (0-2), 7 p.m.

The Roughriders and Owls are each hungry for a win. One team will obtain it this Friday. … Hale Center 33, Boys Ranch 6

Clarendon (1-1) at Wheeler (1-1), 7 p.m.

After a devastating loss to Highland Park, the Broncos travel to Wheeler to take on a Mustangs team eager to bounce back from a loss to Hamlin. Clarendon has something to prove but Wheeler is tough at home. … Wheeler 28, Clarendon 20. 

Stratford (1-1) at Guymon, Okla. (0-2), 7:30 p.m.

The Elks come off a hard-fought loss to West Texas High. A trip to Guymon to face the winless Tigers may be the right medicine to get back on track. Stratford dominates on the road. … Stratford 56, Guyman, Okla. 20

Bovina (1-1) at Smyer (2-0), 7:30 p.m. 

Bovina took one on the chip against Friona last week. Smyer has two big wins over Springlake-Earth and Plains. The Bobcats pull away second half.. … Smyer 35, Bovina 20. 

Farwell (1-1) at Olton (1-1), 7:30 p.m.

The Steers were decimated in a 55 point loss to Friona while week 2 resulted in a 48 point win over Crosbyton. Olton is capable of putting up the points. Look for Farwell to deviate the point spread this week in Olton. … Farwell 33, Olton 25

Happy (1-1) at Valley (2-0), 7:30 p.m. This has been a huge matchup for years now. The key to this game will be who can win the defensive battle. Expect this one to go all four quarters. … Valley 86, Happy 68 

Lefors (2-0) at White Deer (2-0), 7:30 p.m. White Deer has some injuries that slowed them down last week, and this Lefors team is no slouch by any means. But expect the Bucks run game to be the difference. … White Deer 74, Lefors 28

Groom (1-1) at Nazareth (0-1), 7:30 p.m. The Tigers got out to a hot start against McLean last week, but could not close it out. Nazareth held a lead of its own against Ropes on Friday night. The winner in this one has got to be consistent. Give this game to the Tigers in a close one. … Groom 62, Nazareth 54

McLean (2-0) at Johnson City (0-2), 7:30 WF Notre Dame.

The Tigers trailed for the first time in over a year last Friday night. Don’t expect them to trail in this contest at all. It will be a short night for Ben Crockett and the boys. … McLean 60, Johnson City 6
