Caprock (1-5, 0-2) vs. Tascosa (5-1, 3-0), 7 p.m. Tascosa’s comeback win over AHS was one for record book;

Meanwhile, Caprock was open, a much needed rest took.

The Rebs are ripe for a letdown after the emotional ride;

Friday games

Amarillo High (4-2, 2-1) at Lubbock Coronado (6-0, 2-0), 7 p.m. In Lubbock at Lowrey Field it’s showdown time;

Knocking the Mustangs off its unbeaten perch is quite the climb;

AHS must have a plan to stop Gunslinger Sawyer and his mates;

Or this one will end early, sending the fans to the gates. … Amarillo High 48, Coronado 45

Lubbock High (2-4, 0-2) at Palo Duro (0-6, 0-3), 7 p.m. This one has interesting written all over it;

Can the Dons rise up and play with grit?

Honestly, I have no clue how this one may end;

Abilene Wylie (3-1, 2-0) at Randall (3-4, 1-2), 7 p.m. Randall came up big last week against Plainview;

The same must been done this week, that’s so true.

Wylie is legit with wins over The Falls, Monterey and Brownwood;

I’m calling a Randall win at home, it’s all good. … Randall 28, Wylie 27

Class 4A Bidistrict

Thursday games

Canyon (8-1) at Wichita Falls Hirschi (5-3) 7 p.m. Canyon lost the zip code call for the home and home site;

Is that an omen? Or should I just go fly a kite.

Hirschi has speed galore and D1 playing at D end;

But I can’t see Canyon’s excellence not winning, my friend. … Canyon 31, Hirschi 21

Hereford (3-6) vs. Springtown (8-2), 7 p.m., at Snyder

The Herd is in for a real tough test;

Springtown and Coach Hulett are their districts’ best.

Hereford won’t play afraid or intimidated;

But Springtown will win, it’s not over rated. … Springtown 42, Hereford 14

Friday games

Dumas (9-1) vs. Lake Worth (6-4), 7 p.m. at Vernon: District champion Dumas is poised and ready for a playoff roll;

The Demons defense hustles, hits and opponents take a toll.

Lake Worth is certainly no slouch;

But the Demons will have them watching next week from the couch. … Dumas 35, Lake Worth 10.

Pampa (8-2) vs, Decatur (5-5), 7 p.m. at Snyder: Oh lookie here, Decatur sitting at .500?

But we all know Decatur is much if you wondered.

Pampa is getting healthier and certainly up to this test;

Monahans (4-6) at Perryton (4-5) 7 p.m. Perryton coming off that crazy last second 3-0 win;

Now in Coach Hab’s first year hosting a playoffs in its own den.

Monahans this year has played some good ball;

River Road (4-6) at Shallowater (8-0), 7 p.m. For a second straight year the Wildcats find themselves in the postseason. River Road needs senior star Lance Welps to chew up yards and clock to keep it away from a talented Mustangs offense led by head coach Bryan Wood. … Shallowater 38, River Road 14.

Canadian (9-1) vs. Coahoma (7-3) 7 p.m. Younger Field, Tulia: This one could be over early if the Bulldogs don’t come out firing. Canadian is clicking in all phases right now. … Canadian 60, Coahoma 6.

Dalhart (7-3) vs Lamesa (4-6), 7 p.m. Wolfforth’s Peoples Bank Stadium: Should be q quick night of work for a more physical Golden Wolves squad. … Dalhart 40, Lamesa 12

Childress (7-2) vs. Abernathy (7-3) 7 p.m. Floydada: The Bobcats have licked their wounds from last week, and are focused on an Antelopes team that had eliminated them from the playoffs the last two years. … Childress 30, Abernathy 13.

Spearman (9-1) vs. Lubbock Roosevelt (7-3), 7 p.m. River Road: Nobody has been more a surprise than the Eagles who are in the playoffs for the first time in five years. With that said, the Lynx have weapons all over the field and are ready for a playoff push. … Spearman 35, Roosevelt 17

Friona (6-4) vs. Idalou (8-0), 7 p.m. Plainview: The Chieftains are battle tested after going through the gauntlet of a brutal district so intimidation won’t be an issue. Still, the Wildcats are unbeaten for a reason. … Idalou 38, Friona 18

Olton (7-3) vs New Deal (5-3), 4 p.m. Levelland: Don’t sleep on the Mustangs. They are red hot and scoring points. I guarantee you Olton has New Deal’s attention. … Olton 33, New Deal 27

Farwell (7-3) vs. Sundown (8-2), 7:30 p.m. Levelland: This is a rematch from early in the year when the Roughnecks roughed up the Steers. Expect a better game this time around, but it will be up to Farwell’s offense to get it done. … Sundown 30, Farwell 20

Wellington (9-0) vs. Gruver (4-6), 6 p.m. Happy State Bank Stadium, Canyon: Nobody is playing more complete football right now than the No. 3 Skyrockets. Wellington rolls to the area round. … Wellington 42, Gruver 14

Stratford (5-5) vs. Clarendon (7-3) 7 p.m. Borger: This is one of the more competitive matchups of the bidistrict round. Two physical teams that are superb at running the football. The Broncos have the talent, while the Elks carry playoff tradition. … Stratford 26, Clarendon 20.

Wheeler (8-2) vs Sunray (6-4), 7 p.m. Panhandle: It’s another rematch of two teams that battled each other in nondistrict. The Mustangs held off upstart Sunray the first time. Can they do it again? … Wheeler 23, Sunray 14

Panhandle (8-2) vs. Hale Center (6-4), 7 p.m. Younger Field, Tulia: The Panthers have all the tools to contend for the Region I title, and it starts with a win Friday. … Panhandle 51, Hale Center 21

Bovina (3-6) vs. Plains (2-8), 7 p.m. Shallowater: Experience is always a positive heading into the playoffs. Fortunately for the Mustangs that bodes well in this contest. … Bovina 27, Plains 19

Vega (8-2) vs. Shamrock (5-5), 7 p.m. Borger: The Longhorns are one of the favorites in the region thanks to a strong offense led by QB Ryan Grawunder. … Vega 40, Shamrock 16

It’ll be a battle, but the Bucks have more to prove this year. … White Deer 88, Springlake Earth 70

Happy (9-1) vs. Petersburg (6-4), 7 p.m. Kress: The Cowboys have a good ways to go but are one of the favorites to start the postseason. They need to come out swinging in this one. Petersburg is scrappy and will play with Happy if they don’t put them away early. The Cowboys take care of business in the first round. … Happy 67, Petersburg 31

Wildorado (8-2) vs. Follett (10-0), 7 p.m. White Deer. What a wild ride for both of these programs in 2020. Wildorado has spoiled themselves with an impressive 8-2 record in their first official season in Six-man while Follett has turned around a losing team into an unbeaten juggernaut. These two played earlier in the year, and the Panthers rolled. I see lightning striking twice. … Follett 58, Wildorado 16.

Groom (9-1) vs. Miami (6-4), 7 p.m. McLean: What a first year for Clint Linman at the helm for the Warriors. Unlucky for Miami however, it run into the buzzsaw that is the Groom Tigers in the first round. Groom is on a mission, and is my personal favorite to get out of this region. … Groom 72 Miami 20.
