Canyon soars past Perryton

The No. 4-ranked Canyon Lady Eagles made a long road trip well worth it by getting a 62-18 win at Perryton on Tuesday night in a District 4-4A clash.

Canyon is off to a 2-0 start to district play and 12-2 overall. The Rangerettes fall to 6-10, 0-2.

Jaylee Moss poured in a game-high 12 points for Canyon. Abree Winfrey and Kinley Cornelson chipped in with eight points each.

Randall rolls Pampa

Sadie Sanchez dropped in 19 points as the Randall Lady Raiders stayed perfect in District 4-4A action with a 67-54 road victory at Pampa.

Randall opened the game on a 19-4 run taking a 30-18 lead into halftime to never look back. Sanchez had the game-high 19 followed by teammates Layla Romero and Ashley Norman who tallied 11 each.

Randall is now 10-7 overall and 2-0 in the league. Pampa drops to 8-7, 0-2.

West Plains gets road win at Dumas

After a rough go through non-district, West Plains has hit a groove after getting a second straight district win by downing Dumas, 49-41.

The Lady Wolves move to 2-0 in District 4-4A and 5-8 overall. The Demonettes fall to 5-10, 0-2.

Piper Patterson registered a team-best 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and pulled down seven rebounds. Despite the loss, Dumas guard Kamryn Cox put up a game-high 27 points including five 3-pointers.

Hereford bullies Borger

The Hereford Lady Whitefaces kept pace with the top of the district by going to Borger and getting a 70-56 victory.

The Lady Whitefaces placed four players in double-digits. Sam Grajeda and Azalea Alaniz led Hereford with 12 points apiece. Aubrey Devin poured in 11 and Sarahi Sanchez had 10. Borger’s Adraya Loftis scored a game-high 17 in a losing effort.

Hereford jumps to 9-8 overall and 2-0 in District 4-4A. Borger is now 8-3, 0-2.

District 1-1A

McLean, Fort Elliott, Kelton open with district wins

District 1-1A started league play with three games on Tuesday night. McLean, Kelton and Fort Elliott all opened district with convincing wins while Miami started with a bye.

McLean picked up huge performances from Hailow Moon and Kassidy Russell who combined for 55 of the Lady Tigers 63 points in a 63-48 victory over Follett. Moon scored a game-high 23 points followed by Russell’s 22. McLean is 11-5 overall and now 1-0 in league play. Follett falls to 5-5, 0-1.

Kelton used a big first half to get past Lefors 37-21. The Lady Lions opened the first quarter with a 16-5 advantage and never looked back. Emily Badillo had a game-high 14 points for Kelton while teammate Marlen Alvarado poured in 12. Kelton improves to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in district. Lefors falls to 4-10, 0-1.

Fort Elliott also opened at 1-0 in district taking down Darrouzett 42-13. The Lady Cougars are 4-10 overall. Darrouzett drops to 0-8, 0-1.
