Bushland downs Spearman

The Bushland Lady Falcons stayed strong to open the second half of District 1-3A play dominating Spearman at home, 55-33, on Tuesday night.

Bushland was in command the entire way building a 25-9 lead into halftime. Division I talent, Emma Troxell, poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the way. Teammate Brooklyn Boyett added 13. Bushland stays a game behind No. 1-ranked Canadian at 5-1 in district, and 19-6 overall. Spearman falls to 20-9, 3-3.

Congratulations Bailey Maupin

Gruver standout and Texas Tech signee, Bailey Maupin, added to her illustrious career during a nondistrict contest Tuesday. Maupin scored 15 points that helped the Lady Hounds to a 55-45 road win at Liberal, Kan. More importantly the victory kept No 1-ranked Gruver undefeated at 23-0.

Maupin surpassed a prestigious milestone

In her effort going over the 2,500 point mark for her career. Maupin now sits at an eye-opening 2,510 career points.

Tuesday’s top performers

Randall freshman Sadie Sanchez dropped in 29 points that helped the Lady Raiders to a key road win at Tascosa, 73-54

Highland Park’s Cassie McClurg tallied 15 points during a 51-19 win at home against Highland Park. The junior went over 1,000 points for her stellar career.

Vega’s Katelyn Ruiz continued her fantastic season lighting up Boys Ranch for 18 points during the Lady Longhorns 58-29 victory.
