Tascosa gains measure of revenge
Tascosa picked up its biggest win to date, while gaining a measure of revenge by downing No. 12 Odessa Permian 62-57 at home Tuesday night.
The win erases a 68-40 drubbing at the hands of Permian in the first meeting, as the Rebels (22-6 overall) pull into a first place tie with Permian (25-3 overall) at 7-1 in District 2-6A.
Texas Tech football commit L.B. Moore was the story for the Rebs, scoring a game-high 20 points.
AHS locks up 3-5A
The Amarillo High Sandies cruised past Lubbock High on Senior Night with a 68-30 victory.
The Sandies (24-8) also clinched the outright District 3-5A championship with the win, improving to a perfect 14-0.
Chris Dees led all scores with 20.
In other 3-5A news, Palo Duro was able to secure a big home win against Lubbock Cooper 65-53. This puts the Dons (17-6, 11-3) all alone in in second place. Thaddeus Udoh was clutch for Palo Duro, racking up 21 points.
Monday’s top performers
Pampa’s Chase Landers and Cason Floyd combined for 37 points as the Harvesters stayed unbeated in District 4-4A with a win against Dumas. Landers went for 20, while Floyd added 18.
Dimmitt’s Actavian Baty found himself with a double-double, pouring in 18 points, while pulling down 11 boards to help the Bobcats knock off Friona.
Brady Bailey of Wheeler was hard to handle for the Panhandle defense during the Mustangs 53-44 road win. Bailey shot lights out, putting up a game-high 27 points.
Stratford’s Trevor Bell matched Bailey’s effort during the Elks convincing 63-45 victory against West Texas High, chipping in a game-best 27 points.
